Moving from Nara Baby

Nota Baby for iPhone and iPad

Nara Baby has moved to a paid plan. Your log doesn't have to stay there: export it from Nara, import it into Nota Baby, and carry on from where you were.

Bring the log over

  1. In Nara Baby, open Activity, tap the picture of your baby, and choose Export Data. Save the file. There is one file for each baby.
  2. In Nota Baby, open Settings › Export and import and tap Import from another app. Choose the file.
  3. Nota Baby shows what will come across before it adds anything. Look it over, then confirm.

Importing the same file twice doesn't add anything twice, so you can try it, and do it again later if you kept logging in Nara for a few days.

What comes across

What stays behind

The preview names anything it leaves out, in Nara's own words, so nothing goes missing without you seeing it.

What Nota Baby costs

Logging is free, and so are history, export, sharing, the widgets, the Live Activity and every reminder, with no limit on how far back the log goes. Premium is optional and covers what the app works out from your log: a nap plan learned from your baby's own sleep, Insights, a summary for check-ups, and asking the log questions. If you never pay, you keep everything you logged.

Sharing with your partner

Each person signs in with their own Apple Account, and the log is shared through iCloud, so nobody shares a password. You can also add a carer, such as a nanny, who can read the log without being able to change it.

Nota Baby is for iPhone and iPad only. If your partner uses an Android phone, they can't use the shared log.

Where the log lives

In your own iCloud. It is backed up every day, and you can export everything as a spreadsheet or a backup file whenever you like. The privacy policy has the details, and it is short.
